Premium Pessoa Horse Bits (Dutch Gags) | Wholesale & Custom OEM Manufacturing

As a specialized global manufacturer of professional equestrian hardware, we produce high-performance Pessoa Horse Bits (widely known as Dutch Gags or Continental Gags) engineered for adjustable leverage, poll pressure, and responsive braking. Designed for wholesale distributors, retail tack shops, and equestrian brands across the USA, UK, Australia, and Europe, our Pessoa collection is an absolute necessity for the show jumping, eventing, and cross-country markets where riders require precise control over strong, forward-going horses.

The Market Advantage of Pessoa Bits

The Pessoa or Continental gag is highly valued in competitive jumping disciplines for its versatile, multi-ring design. By stocking expertly manufactured Pessoa bits, your retail business caters to a demographic of riders who need adaptable hardware that can be fine-tuned to their horse's temperament on any given day:

• Adjustable Leverage Mechanics: Featuring three or four stacked rings, these bits offer varying degrees of control. Attaching the rein to the main snaffle ring provides mild action, while lowering the rein to the bottom rings incrementally increases the leverage, poll pressure, and curb action.

• Elevating & Rebalancing Action: The gag-like action of the bit encourages the horse to elevate its front end and rock back onto its hindquarters, making it an essential tool for rebalancing heavy or strong horses before a large jump.

• Versatile Rigging Options: Handlers can ride with a single rein on a specific ring, use double reins for refined control, or utilize rounding (gag) straps to distribute pressure evenly between the mouthpiece and the poll.

Manufactured in our Sialkot facility using heavy-duty, rust-resistant materials, this specialized leverage line is a high-demand segment of our complete premium horse bits catalog. Our wholesale Pessoa selection includes:

• Classic 3-Ring & 4-Ring Dutch Gags: Available in traditional multi-ring configurations to offer your customers multiple degrees of severity and control.

• Anatomical Lozenge & French Links: Double-jointed mouthpieces that relieve the "nutcracker" effect. These are highly popular in Pessoa bits, as they soften the leverage action by sitting comfortably flat across the tongue.

• Waterford Pessoa Bits: A multi-jointed "chain" style mouthpiece combined with the Pessoa cheeks, specifically designed for strong horses that tend to lean or take a dead hold.

• Salivation-Promoting Alloys: We manufacture wholesale Pessoa bits integrating pure copper rollers, sweet iron mouthpieces, and copper inlays to actively promote warmth and bit acceptance even under leverage.

To supply your show jumping and eventing clients with complete, competition-ready setups, complement your hardware orders with our premium leather wholesale horse accessories, including durable gag roundings, martingale attachments, and anatomical jumping bridles.

FAQ's

What is the difference between a 3-Ring and a 4-Ring Pessoa bit?

The difference lies in the degree of maximum leverage. A 3-ring Pessoa has the cheekpiece ring, the main snaffle ring, and one lower leverage ring. A 4-ring Pessoa adds an additional lower ring, offering a more severe leverage option at the very bottom for extremely strong horses.

Is a Pessoa bit a true gag bit?

Technically, the Pessoa is a "Continental gag" or a leverage bit rather than a true gag. A true gag requires special cheekpieces that slide entirely through the bit rings. However, the Pessoa does create similar poll pressure and elevating action, which is why the terms are often used interchangeably in the retail market.

Can I order wholesale Pessoa bits with sweet iron mouthpieces?

Absolutely. We specialize in custom metallurgical combinations. We can manufacture wholesale batches combining high-strength stainless steel rings (for structural integrity) with mouthpieces forged from sweet iron or pure copper to encourage salivation.
